Volunteer to quilt for kids and families in need
Often, when natural disasters strike or war drives families from their homes, our hearts ache with compassion but we don’t know how to help. If you’ve wondered how to volunteer to quilt for charity, look no further. Making First St John Quilts is a tangible way to express love to our neighbors in need. Quilts can be used as warm bedding, simple tents or floor coverings. Each one reflects God’s loving presence in a world rife with suffering. All are welcome, no experience needed. Bring a sack lunch. We follow Oregon Schools for any cancellations due to weather. Everyone is welcome!
The Quilters finished up at the end of March and did an amazing job! They were able to complete 124 quilts that will be donated to various charities! Great job ladies!

Our Quilters
Making First St John Quilts is a tangible way to express love to our neighbors in need.
Our quilting ministry meets each monday morning from 9:30 to noon. Every one brings a sandwich for lunch, and get busy with the various steps to completing a quilt. We make about 10 quilts a week, as well as work taken home to complete as fun home projects. Many wonderful conversations can be heard, people sharing their thoughts of times gone by, latest happenings, and future plans. We break at lunch time to share a prayer, great fun, and lots of laughter. This group of 12 woman really have a ball.
At the begining of the lunch time we say: Thank you Lord for lots of love, for rain and sunny weather, thank you Lord for this our food and that we are together. Amen
