Elders
Love our neighbor as ourselves
The elders are an extension of the pastoral office. Each elder shares responsibilities with the Pastor that relate to the spiritual care and well-being of our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. The elders desire to cultivate Christian harmony, Christian charity, and Biblical peacemaking among our church family. The elders encourage faithful attendance at Divine Worship Services and frequent partaking of the Lord’s Supper.
The elders lead worship (without Holy Communion) whenever the pastor is away for business or personal reasons. The elders promote and provide for an atmosphere of reverence and devotion at all services.
The elders actively seek to keep in touch with those members whose shepherding is assigned to them by contacting members periodically to ensure that all is going well with them.
The elders meet together with the pastor on a monthly basis to review goings on within the congregation with a special focus on the spiritual well-being of church members. Prayers are regularly offered in behalf of those in need. Planning for any upcoming and special service needs are handled at monthly meetings.
